About BARTI
- The Government of Maharashtra in Cultural Affairs, Sports & Tourism Department, vide no. UTA, 1078 / D-XXV dated 22nd December, 1978 established “Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Samata Vichar Peeth”.
- This Samta Peeth started functioning on 12th March 1979 from the premises of Mahatma Phule Backward Classes Development Corporation Ltd, Mumbai.
- By Govt. order, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Samata Vichar Peeth was relocated to Pune at the present address- 28, Queen’s Garden, Pune,411001 on 11th February 1987.M
- Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research & Training Institute (BARTI), Pune, was declared as Autonomous institute under the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Govt. of Maharashtra in the year 2008
- This Institute is committed to the cause of equality and social justice through scientific research, evaluation of schemes meant for socially disadvantaged sections, policy advocacy, training, skills development etc.
- Director General, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research & Training Institute (BARTI) is appointed as The Chief Coordinator of All District Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committees in the Maharashtra State.

About Caste Certificate Verification Information System (CCVIS)
- Caste Certificate Verification Information System (CCVIS) is online web based application to get Caste Validity Certificate for application type - Student, Service, Election and Other to avail various benefits under different Government schemes.
- All 36 District Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committees are working in Maharashtra State, to verify the caste certificates of applicant’s belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Castes Converted to Buddhism, De-notified Tribes (Vimukta Jati), Nomadic Tribes, Other Backward Classes, Special Backward Category and Socially & Educationally Backward Category. CCVIS (Caste Certificate Verification Information System) has been developed to improve the online citizen services for Caste Validity Certificates.
